100th Victory over same School
100th Victory over the same opposition
Dale College has beaten Selborne College 99 times during the 120 years that the two proud Eastern Cape schools have been playing against each other.
Since I wrote an article,(Dale College vs Selborne College Historic Overview) previewing the Dale College vs Selborne College game in King Williams Town this Saturday, I have been searching high and low through records and historical archives trying to find any other schools who have achieved this amazing ‘mile stone’.
I have not yet been able to find any other records to show us that any other schools have achieved such a remarkable achievement. I am therefore convinced that if Dale beat Selborne on Saturday, they will be the first school in South Africa’s history to beat an opposing school 100 times.
This might even add to the tension on match day, but no matter the result, anyone who is lucky enough to witness the potentially historical match on the C.B. Jennings field in King Williams Town, will be in for a treat. Below are the stats for Dale against Selborne.
DALE vs SELBORNE
Played: 185
Won: DALE 99 vs SELBORNE 63
Draw: 23
Dale has scored 1829 points to Selborne’s 1564
If anyone can verify any other schools results that already reached 100 wins over same team please forward such information to media@schoolrugby.co.za
