DHL Stormers backline coach Robbie Fleck spoke to us from the team’s base in Perth a bit earlier today – ahead of their final 2015 Vodacom Super Rugby tour match against the Western Force on Saturday.

The DHL Stormers recorded an excellent 32-18 bonus point win over the defending champion Waratahs last weekend and Fleck would like to see the team back up their victory before they return to South Africa.

“We’ve always had a great mood in our camp, but obviously things are especially good after our win over the Waratahs,” Fleck told the www.iamastormer.com website on Tuesday afternoon.

“It was a vital win, one of our best, but we need to back it up this week against the Force – who are a tough team to beat, especially at home.

“To come home with 10/11 points would really make it a successful tour ahead of three important games back in South Africa (two of them at home) before our next bye (in mid-May).”

Looking ahead to the challenge of facing the Force on their home turf, Fleck added: “The Force are always a competitive side with a strong kicking and defensive game.

“They’ve had a poor run of late, but they’ve been competitive in every game thus far and they’re not an easy side to play against.

“We need to have a bit of patience against a side with a strong kicking game and good chase lines… we need to work hard and recognise when opportunities arise and when they (opportunities) do we need to take advantage.”

The DHL Stormers will face up to the Force at Perth’s nib Stadium on Saturday at 13h45 SA time (19h45 local time).
