The IRB Junior World Championship 2012 kicks off in Cape Town and Stellenbosch on Monday, June 4 with the world’s premier Age Grade Rugby tournament already proving a huge hit with thousands of Rugby fans in one of the sport’s heartlands.

While tournament organisers are expecting passionate home support as South Africa face a tough opener against Ireland at the Danie Craven Stadium, Stellenbosch, the triple-header match action at the venue kicks off with Wales taking on Fiji before four-time defending champions New Zealand open their latest title defence against newly promoted Samoa.

Three mouth-watering matches are also available at the University of Western Cape Stadium, Cape Town with last year’s semi-finalists Australia, complete with a host of Sevens stars, taking on Scotland before RBS Six Nations Under 20 champions and last year’s finalists England face Italy and France play Argentina.

Rugby fans across the world can savour every try, tackle and pass as all 30 matches are televised for the first time and available in 172 territories through 21 broadcasters, a record for the event.

The future of stars of world Rugby will be on show as the 336 players in South Africa look to follow in the illustrious footsteps of more than 130 JWC graduates, a roll of honour which includes the likes of Patrick Lambie, Aaron Cruden, David Pocock, Sam Warburton and Owen Farrell.
