Sharks opt for experience in "Currie Cup Final rematch"
The Sharks have settled down into a routine after a particularly hectic last month as they focus for the Absa Currie Cup match against the Lions at Mr Price KINGS PARK this Saturday.
Sharks coach John Plumtree has made a number of changes to The Sharks side that defeated Western Province last weekend, and while it is most likely not a case of not rewarding the youngsters who did so well last week, it seems rather that he has opted with experience with the returning players now available after being given a break last week.
Louis Ludik, Charl McLeod and Anton Bresler will all add plenty of Super Rugby experience to this Sharks side who know that the visiting Lions will be looking to maintain the kind of form that saw them crowned Currie Cup champs last year, and who boast a strong line-up, little affected by Springbok call-ups.
There are two changes to the backline, with Ludik and McLeod displacing Gouws Prinsloo and Cobus Reinach to the bench, and Bresler returning to take up his Super Rugby partnership with Steven Sykes in the second row.
The final change sees Jacques Botes moving to eighthman in place of Tera Mtembu with Francois Kleinhans handed a gilt-edged opportunity with his first-ever start for The Sharks.
The match kicks off at 7.15pm to account for the Test match between the Springboks and Argentina at 5pm (broadcast live in all the bars inside the stadium).
