The Auckland Rugby Union would like to acknowledge Barfoot & Thompson for their help in supporting community rugby and supplying all registered coaches with official ARU Community Coach shirts.

All coaches are required to attend either a Small Blacks or Rugby Smart coaching course and to incentivise as well as acknowledge these people who are such a crucial part of the game, they will receive Auckland Rugby Community Coach tops to wear during the season, courtesy of Barfoot & Thompson.

“With around 1800 coaches, this is an extremely generous gesture by Barfoot &Thompson who are such fantastic supporters of rugby in our region,” said Auckland Rugby Coach Development Manager, Bevan Cadwallader.

“Now coaches will have an official top to wear during the season that reflects their commitment to coaching rugby and validates their coaching course attendance.”

Barfoot &Thompson Managing Director Peter Thompson said donating the tops was about recognising the efforts and thanking the hundreds of volunteers across Auckland who make sure thousands of kids get to play rugby every season.

“At Barfoot &Thompson, we believe in going that extra mile and that’s what we’re doing here. These good people have voluntarily committed to coaching rugby teams across Auckland and attending the Auckland Rugby courses – supplying these shirts is that bit extra to recognise their contribution.”
