The Canterbury Women’s team will take on current table-toppers, Otago, this Saturday afternoon in Dunedin. Head Coach John Sherratt has made four changes to the side that beat Waikato last weekend.

In the forwards, Stacey Anderson and Leysa Matity will be the locking duo, with Valerie Davis moving from lock to blindside flanker and Sophie Carter taking a place on the bench.

The only change in the back line is the return of Olivia Bird to the wing.

Otago pulled off a shock win over Auckland last weekend to become the only unbeaten team in the competition. Sherratt says there is no doubt they will put up a formidable challenge.

“The Otago team is really sparking, and they also have the advantage of playing at home this week. But I am extremely pleased with how our team has been playing and I know they’re up for this challenge.

“Otago are one place ahead of us on the points table at the moment, but w hen you look at points differential, we are ahead of them by 95 points to 54. So we have been scoring a lot more points against our opponents on average. We’ll be looking to take that same attacking game to Otago tomorrow,” Sherratt said.

Kick off is at 12:30pm at North Ground, Dunedin.
