Confirmed times for Springboks RWC 2011 matches
The Springboks kick-off their Rugby World Cup 2011 campaign against Wales at 10.30am (SA time) on Sunday, 11 September next year in Wellington following today’s announcement of starting times for Rugby’s most prestigious event.
The announcement comes after the opening of applications for Individual Match Tickets as fans around the globe look to book their place at the world’s third largest sporting event.
Eden Park, the venue for the inaugural RWC Final in 1987, will herald a nationwide six week celebration of world-class Rugby and REAL New Zealand Festival events when it hosts the Opening Ceremony on Friday, September 9 starting at approximately 9.45am. The Opening Match between New Zealand and Tonga will kick-off at 10.30am.
Defending champions South Africa will remain in Wellington for their second Pool D clash against Fiji on Saturday, 17 September at 8.00am in the Wellington Regional Stadium.
The Springboks then travel to the North Shore, Auckland, for their third pool match against African qualifiers Namibia in the North Harbour Stadium on 22 September and the 2007 RWC winners then conclude their pool fixtures eight days later, on Friday, 30 September against Samoa (10.30am) at the same venue.
Starting times for the two semi-final matches (15 & 16 Oct.) and the Final (23 Oct.) are all scheduled for 11.00am at Eden Park.
