All Blacks come out top in Twickenham clash
The All Blacks did enough in the first half to secure a 26-16 victory in a physical clash against England at Twickenham.
The All Blacks led 17-3 at half time thanks to tries by Hosea Gear and Kieran Read. Dan Carter converted both tries and added a further penalty. Hosea Gear’s try will be remembered by the class offload from All Blacks debutant Sonny Bill Williams.
England’s only points of the first half came through a penalty conversion from Toby Flood.
In the second half England dominated possession and scrums to set up a Dylan Hartley try while Toby Flood added the conversion and a further two penalties.
Dan Carter slotted three extra penalties to keep England at bay.
Bone-crunching and spine-busting tackles dominated the final 10 minutes with the All Blacks scrambling effectively on defense to claim a hard fought victory.
