Feast of activities lined up for Emirates Airline SA Sevens
SARU and its tournament sponsors have lined up an exciting list of events for next week in George where the annual Emirates Airline SA Sevens tournament will be staged again.
The international Sevens spectacle is the second stop on the eight-tournament IRB Sevens World Series circuit and also the only tournament hosted on the African continent.
Outeniqua Park will again host the world’s leading Sevens players over two days on 10 – 11 December 2010.
On Sunday, 5 December the sixteen teams will travel in two groups from Dubai via Cape Town to the popular tourist city in the Southern Cape region. The first group of seven teams and match officials arrive on 21h30 at George Airport, followed by the second group at 22h50.
All the international captains will attend the customary Absa Signing Session at noon on Tuesday, 7 December at the Garden Route Mall. The following day, the Springbok Sevens team will attend a Sasol autograph session at the Absa York Street branch.
DHL are also inviting fans to get down to George on Thursday and be part of the biggest pre-event DHL Sevens Super Fan Party taking place at Zanzibar Club, while the traditional Boots & All live broadcast from the Outeniqua Park Stadium is pencilled in for 18h00.
Fans will be treated to a huge fireworks display which takes place at the Outeniqua Park Stadium that will bring an end to the Emirates Airline SA Sevens tournament on Saturday evening before the official After-Match Party sponsored by Heineken which kicks off at Club Zanzibar at 21h30.
