Junior Boks want to finish #WorldRugbyU20s on winning note
The Junior Springboks want to finish the World Rugby Under-20 Championship on a winning note when they face France on Saturday in the play-off for third place at the World Rugby Under-20 Championship.
The bronze medal match takes place at 18h30 in Cremona, Italy with the Championship final between defending champions England and New Zealand set for 20h30.
After enjoying an off-day on Tuesday, the South Africans returned to the training field on Wednesday for an evening session, follow by another field exercise late on Thursday at their tournament base in Parma.
The team will be confirmed on Friday morning and they will finish off their preparations for Saturday’s French clash with the captain’s run at Cremona, situated an estimated hour’s drive from their team hotel in Parma.
On Thursday, Junior Bok coach, Dawie Theron, said he is pleased with the attitude his players have shown in camp despite the loss against England.
“The disappointment of the semi-final is behind us and we have turned our focus on the French match. There is still one match left in the tournament and we believe it is going to be a tough test against a good French side.
“The team spirit is great and the attitude of the players very good. The players are working hard in training and they want to leave Italy with a good performance in their last match,” said Theron.
