Big match-ups lined up on day two of SARU Girls U16 Week
Eastern Province, Western Province, the Free State and Border will contest the main matches on the second day of the SARU Girls U16 Week at CJ Langenhoven Gymnasium in Oudtshoorn on Wednesday following convincing victories in their opening matches on Monday.
Eastern Province thumped the Pumas 48-0 and Western Province defeated the Limpopo Blue Bulls 26-0, while Free State beat Eastern Province CD 20-10 and Border registered a 15-7 win against Boland.
The Blue Bulls, Leopards, SWD and Border CD also had good starts to the tournament with victories in the opening round.
Eastern Province set the standard on attack on day-one with a stunning eight tries, while Border Country Districts crossed the tryline five times and Western Province and the Blue Bulls four times.
The players had Tuesday off to recover from the opening day’s matches, and will take to the field again on Wednesday and Friday.
Following strong starts to the competition, Western Province will meet the Free State and Border will take on Eastern Province in the main games on Wednesday.
In the other big match-ups Boland will line up against the Blue Bulls and Griquas will go up against the Pumas.
