EP still undefeated in Absa Under-19 competition, but Pumas fall
The EP Kings all but secured a home semifinal in the Absa Under-19 Provincial Championship’s A-Division with an tenth consecutive win this weekend, but all of five other teams can still make the other three play-off spots with two rounds of action to go.
The Kings (33-14 over Leopards) and Vodacom Blue Bulls (31-20 over Cell C Sharks) secured good wins to remain in the top two position, while the Toyota Free State also scored a significant win over the Xerox Golden Lions in Bloemfontein on Saturday, winning 32-23. The Sharks are the only ones that cannot finish in the top four anymore, so there remains a lot to play for in the next couple of weeks.
In the B-Division, the log-leading Steval Pumas suffered their first defeat of the campaign, as second placed Down Touch Griffons downed them 17-15 in Welkom. ORC Griquas stayed third with a 58-19 win over SWD and Hino Valke stayed fourth thanks to a 36-19 win over Limpopo Blue Bulls. Boland also got a consecutive win, this time beating Border 43-26.
The logs of both A and B Divisions are available here.
