Tsogo Sun renews SARU sponsorship for five years
The South African Rugby Union (SARU) has signed a new five-year sponsorship deal with Tsogo Sun, Southern Africa’s premier gaming, hotel and entertainment group, which will extend their association with SARU and the Springboks beyond 20 years.
Tsogo Sun first became involved in sponsoring South African rugby during the 1995 Rugby World Cup before entering into a formal sponsorship agreement with SARU in 1996. They have now extended the association until 2020.
“Tsogo Sun has established itself as one of the top hotel groups in Africa and we are delighted to extend our partnership with them for another five years,” said SARU CEO Jurie Roux.
“The Springboks have a demanding travel schedule and it is comforting that the Tsogo Sun Hotels throughout the country have become a home away from home for the players and their families, as well as other SARU teams and staff.
“We have developed a strong partnership with Tsogo Sun over the last 20 years, and we are looking forward to another mutually-beneficial five years with the group.”
Tsogo Sun group Director of Sales, Neil Fraser, was equally delighted about the renewal of the sponsorship and said it was a natural decision given the established relationship between the organisations.
“Tsogo Sun have been associated with SARU and the Springbok rugby team since the 1995 Rugby World Cup, and we are both pleased and proud to continue this 20-year plus long-term relationship,” said Fraser.
“Over the years Tsogo Sun hotels, restaurants, venues and entertainment complexes have been integral in supporting both the Springboks, SARU Officials and supporters. We look forward to working with SARU for the next five years.”
