Varsity Cup’s 9 point try explained
In Varsity Cup 2016 a try can be worth up to 9 points depending on where the move starts.
If a team scores a try where the movement starts between the halfway line and the opponent’s 22m a 2 point bonus will be awarded making the score worth 7 points.
If the attacking team scores from their own half a 4 point bonus will be awarded provided possession is held through out that movement, making the try worth 9 points.
If an attacking team scores where the movement starts in the opponent’s 22m the no bonus points are allocated making that score worth 5 points.
