JOHANNESBURG, 23 February 2016 – A new dawn has come in Vodacom Super Rugby that will see more bone-crushing hits, mesmerizing sidesteps, and awe-inspiring tries than ever before in 2016.
The expansion of the top Southern Hemisphere competition into new markets which will bring with it more action-packed rugby and Vodacom will make sure fans don’t miss a beat.
Vodacom will launch a number of innovative initiatives that will give supporters a front-row seat wherever they are in the world.
“Vodacom is excited about the expansion of the premier provincial rugby competition that will not only include two teams from Japan and Argentina but will also see the Southern Kings take their rightful place among the best franchises in South Africa,” said Mosidi Seretlo Brand Director Vodacom.
“The supporters are the bedrock of the tournament and at Vodacom we made it our mission to make sure the fans don’t miss a beat in this year’s Vodacom Super Rugby competition.”
Vodacom Super Rugby will be bigger and better than ever before with the expansion from 15 teams to 18 to include the Southern Kings, the Jaguares (Argtentina), and the Sunwolves (Japan).
Fans’ access to everything Vodacom Super Rugby related will increase twofold as they will be able to follow all the action on the field and the news from the side-lines via the All Out Rugby App, powered by Vodacom, and the vodacomrugby.co.za portal.
Vodacom has made it their game plan to keep fans informed and thanks to the All Out Rugby App they will stay on the ball even when they are on the go.
By downloading the App, users are a touch and a swipe away from discovering truckloads of features such as highlights clips of every weekend’s games and up to date stats from every encounter.
The App is packed with breaking news, match previews and match reports.
All Out Rugby allows supporters a customised App experience as well as the Team Tracker feature and Superbru integration.
Whatever the reason for missing a game Vodacom has got your back with live stats from every game throughout the season and a highlights video from each match, so you don’t miss out on the best action moments.
vodacomrugby.co.za will be the go to portal for Vodacom Super Rugby content with expert opinions, debates and analysis.
Visitors to the site will not only be passive bystanders but they can actively get involved through the Rate the Players section where they will get a chance to rate the South African players, coaches and match referees every weekend.
Supporters can use the statistics on the All Out Rugby App to inform their ratings which they can then compare to the experts.
The vodacomrugby.co.za portal also includes a Think Tank of analysis, opinions and debates that will give them an edge whether around the braai fire or the watercooler at the office.
Vodacom will once again use their Vodacom Super Rugby sponsorship for the greater good through the Tries for Books campaign.
For every try scored by a South African team, Vodacom will donate R7000 towards setting up e-libraries and donating books to schools in communities that need it most.
Vodacom will aim to change the game through knowledge and will encourage rugby fans to donate books at stadiums around the country which will be distributed to schools in need.
