The good form of the Springbok Sevens team in die first six tournaments of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series has given them confidence in their goal to win the Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens, that starts on Friday.

Springbok Sevens captain, Kyle Brown, on Thursday said that the team is confident in their structures and that they go into the seventh tournament of the series with the aim to win the title and nothing else.

“Even if we play on a grass patch 50 kilometres outside of Hong Kong with only two people watching, we would still like to win the tournament,” Brown said.

Meanwhile, Springbok Sevens coach, Neil Powell, is happy with the intensity in training shown by his squad before the kick-off of the event, where the Blitzboks will face England (14h50 SA time) on Friday and Russia (07h54) and Scotland (11h54) on Saturday.

The players have shrugged off any form of jet-lag and Powell was pleased to see the positive attitude in training.

“The guys showed good intensity and that is always a good sign,” said the Springbok Sevens coach.
