Steval Pumas Injury report 19th September 2016
The Steval Pumas have three new injuries from the match against DHL Western Province this past Saturday. Several other players are still recovering from injuries picked up in previous weeks. Here is the official injury update from physiotherapist Luzahn Louw.
New injuries:
• Frankie Herne is sitting out training with an injury to his transverse abdominal muscle. He will have a follow-up on Wednesday.
• Emile Temperman has a quad contusion and is not training pending a fitness test on Thursday.
• Hennie Skorbinski has a mallet finger injury on his left hand. He is training within limitations and having x-rays, but will likely be able to play with a splint on his finger.
Other injuries:
• Marlou van Niekerk will be in a boot and crutches for at least six weeks after tearing a ligament in his foot.
• Reynier van Rooyen is out of his knee brace and will have at least two weeks of further rehab for his knee ligament tear.
• Francois du Toit is having a clearance test today for the bruise to the sacroiliac joint in his lower back.
The team for the home match against the Cheetahs this Saturday will be finalised by Thursday. Also please note that kick off has been moved to 6:45pm on Friday 23rd September. It will be televised on SUPERSPORT channel 6.
