Springbok Sevens happy to be at home
Springbok Sevens coach, Neil Powell, on Thursday said his team loves playing in the HSBC Cape Town Sevens tournament, despite the massive expectations from the home crowd.
According to the coach, the team treasure the opportunity to play in front of their home crowd.
“It is massive for us, the team picks up energy from the crowd and that helps them. Playing in Cape Town also gives us a chance to play in front of our family, friends and South African fans. That is something we will always treasure,” the coach said.
Powell earlier in the day named the same squad of thirteen players that travelled to Dubai last weekend to play in Cape Town this weekend.
The team is:
- Chris Dry (53 tournaments, 370 points)
- Philip Snyman (captain, 38, 221)
- Dylan Sage (8, 40)
- Kwagga Smith (25, 255)
- Werner Kok (20, 225)
- Kyle Brown (57, 390)
- Branco du Preez (46, 901)
- Rosko Specman (14, 179)
- Justin Geduld (26, 583)
- Cecil Afrika (46, 1144)
- Ruhan Nel (12, 115)
- Seabelo Senatla (30, 840)
