The charge against Val Rapava Ruskin of Worcester Warriors for acts contrary to good sportsmanship, contrary to law 10.4(m), was heard in Bristol this evening.

Rapava Ruskin pleaded guilty and was given a six-week suspension. He is free to play again on Monday 4th September.

The prop pushed match official Greg Garner in the back with both hands during the Aviva Premiership match between Worcester and Newcastle Falcons and was subsequently cited following the match.

The incident occurred in the first half of the match.

The RFU Disciplinary panel said: “The panel heard from the player and after carefully considering all of the available evidence, found that this was at the lower end of seriousness for this type of offending. The panel imposed a sanction of six weeks which reflects the seriousness of making contact with a referee or any match official.”

The RFU Disciplinary panel comprised of Daniel White (Chairman) with John Vale and Nick Dark.

Full judgement and footage of the incident will be available on this link in the next few days: http://www.englandrugby.com/governance/discipline/judgments-document-search/
