Sunday’s opening test between Kenya and Hong Kong ended all square, 19-19 after eighty minutes of play at Nairobi’s RFUEA Ground.

The hosts would lose fly half Biko Adema early on, the experienced playmaker limping off with an ankle injury ten minutes into the fixture, Kenny Rogers Adola slotting into his position for the remainder of the fixture.

The visitors took the lead after dominating territory and possession, Jamie Parfitt barging over with Matt Roslee adding the extras for a 7-0 lead. The Dragons soon doubled their lead, wing Sam Purvis touching down with Roslee converting for a 14-0 score after 17 minutes of play.

The Simbas would finally find a rhythm, stand in captain George Nyamuba grounding the ball with Andola converting for a 14-7 score.

Alex Olaba, on debut for the Simbas, would turn on the afterburners, landing his maiden try on the left flank for a 14-12 score that remained this way heading into the interval.

Liam Staltem would retake the lead for the Dragons after the interval before Dennis Muhanji responded with a barging run and touch down, Andola converting to tie the score and result at full time.

The two sides will meet again at the same venue on Saturday 26 August.
