Aussie 7s stars, Emma Tonegato and Shannon Parry will make their much-anticipated return from injury this weekend at the Central Coast Sevens as the Rio Olympic stars looks to build strongly towards the HSBC Sevens World Series.

Tonegato (shoulder) and Parry (elbow) will be joined by their Australian Squad team mates, alongside up and comers Kate Harrison and Page McGregor who played for Macquarie University in the Aon Uni 7s Series.

Still uncontracted, Harrison and McGregor have been offered the opportunity to continue their development after impressing in Australia’s Series against New Zealand in Bendigo last week.

Qantas Australian Women’s Sevens Head Coach, Tim Walsh said: “We’re really excited to have Emma and Shannon leave team rehab and get back on the playing field.

“Both players have worked extremely hard to get their bodies right and it’s great to have them back for this tournament.

“Katie and Page have been impressive with her Rugby this year and we thought she showed plenty of promise against New Zealand. For her to continue her development with our squad is only going to hold her in good stead moving forward.”

Qantas Australian Women’s Sevens player Emma Tonegato said: “I’m really excited to get back onto the playing field and Central Coast will be a great place to get some game time.

“I was sidelined for the Aon Uni 7s Series and watching the girls play certainly made me hungry to get playing again so I’m looking forward to this weekend.”

The Central Coast Sevens will be streamed LIVE through the CC7s website, www.centralcoastsevens.com.au.
