FNB Classic Clashes 16 & 18 June 2011
Johannesburg – 15 June 2011: FNB Classic Clashes continue this weekend with a solitary fixture on the calendar, of epic proportions. First National Bank’s (FNB) sponsorship of the Rugby Classic Clashes is part of the bank’s commitment to support the development of those sports that are truly ingrained in our country’s culture. FNB acknowledges that rugby is a traditional part of our nation’s cultural heritage. As an important element of the South African lifestyle, FNB is proud to throw its weight behind the development of rugby at school and tertiary level.
A school that produces quality rugby players like current Springboks Bismarck du Plessis, Jannie du Plessis and Francois Steyn cannot be taken lightly. Neither can a school that produces players of the caliber of Fourie de Preez, Wynand Olivier and Pierre Spies. Two of the great rugby playing institutions tackle each other tomorrow as Grey College entertain Affies in Bloemfontein in a match that will be broadcast live on SS1/Mnet from 14h00. This is a Classic Clash of epic proportions as two schools with a great heritage and fantastic tradition square up.
The following Rugby Classic Clashes take place this weekend:
16 June 2011:
Grey College vs Affies Bloemfontein, Free State
SACS vs Wynberg Cape Town, Western Province
18 June 2011:
