Springbok Women’s Sevens ready to go all the way
Springbok Women’s Sevens captain Zintle Mpupha believes the key to qualifying for the 2018/2019 HSBC World Rugby Women’s Sevens Series is a brave team effort.
The Bok Women’s Sevens are currently in Hong Kong where they will contest the official HSBC qualifying tournament on Thursday and Friday, and Mpupha said the team would not lack courage when they line up against Mexico, Papua New Guinea and Kenya in their Pool A clashes.
“We have worked hard to get to this point, so we are very excited to take to the field,” said Mpupha. “Last year we lost in the final of the qualifier, and this year we aim to add that one last step towards qualification.
“We have been down this road before and this time we will try our hardest to claim that win that would change our lives.
“The important thing is to take each game in our stride and to use the opportunities that present themselves.”
