In round 2 of the Currie Cup Premier Division – sponsored by Nashua and DirectAxis, the Toyota Free State Cheetahs will be traveling to Cape Town to take on DHL WP on Saturday, 25 August at 17:15.

The referee for the match is AJ Jacobs.  He will be assisted by Cwengile Jadezweni and Nathan Swartz.  The TMO is Shaun Veldsman.

 

Coach Daan Human announced team for the encounter with a couple of changes for last week.

  • Dries Swanepoel will be, replacing Benhard Janse van Rensburg on centre.
  • Louis Fouchè will be replacing Tian Schoeman on flyhalf.  Ernst Stapelberg will be providing cover on the bench.
  • Tian Meyer will be replacing Rudy Paige on scrumhalf.
  • Aidon Davis will be replacing Niell Jordaan as eigth man.
  • Jasper Wiese will start on flank, sending Junior Pokomela to the bench.
  • Dennis Visser will be starting on number 5 lock, replacing JP du Preez. Stephan Malan will be providing cover on the bench.
  • Günther Janse van Vuuren will be switching places with Luan de Bruin.
  • Dries Swanepoel, Louis Fouche and Aidon Davids will making their debuts for the Toyota Free State Cheetahs.

Toyota Free State Cheetahs u.19 and u.21

The Toyota Free State Cheetahs u.19 and u.21 teams will be facing their counter parts from the Leopards at the Fanie du Toit Sportsfields in Potchefstroom on Saturday.

Coach Melusi Mthetwa’s Toyota Free State Cheetahs u.21 will be playing in their first match of the season.  Kick-off of this match is at 12:30.

The Toyota Free State Cheetahs u.19 team will be facing the Leopards for the second time and will be charged up to set the record straight after suffering a defeat on the 7th of July at Shimla Park.  Match kicks off at 11:00.
