BEAUDEN BARRETT TO MISS A MONTH
The Hurricanes have confirmed Beauden Barrett will sit out the next month of Super Rugby.
Barrett’s scans revealed a grade two tear of his medial collateral ligament (MCL) which he suffered during the Hurricanes’ match against the Crusaders on Saturday, May 2.
“Obviously I’m gutted with the injury, but fortunately it’s not season-ending for me,” said Barrett.
“I’ve been pretty lucky to have a good run without injury for a while, but it’s now up to me to work hard on my rehab and make sure I’m ready to return at the business end of the season.”
Should all go well with his rehabilitation, the club is hopeful Barrett will be available for selection when the Hurricanes face the Crusaders in Nelson on May 29.
Prior to that, the All Black flyhalf will miss clashes against the Sharks (H), Chiefs (H) and Blues (A).
