Bell’s Night of the Stars Rugby Extravaganza
The Springboks will attend the popular Bell’s Night of the Stars Rugby Extravaganza, hosted by the Chris Burger Petro Jackson Players’ Fund, on Wednesday, June 13 in Johannesburg.
The Springbok squad will be showing their support to the Players’ Fund in the build-up to the second Test of the Castle Incoming Tour against England, that takes place at Coca-Cola Park in Johannesburg on June 16.
The Fund’s annual national banquet, the Bell’s Night of the Starts Rugby Extravaganza, is the main fundraising event for the charity, which works with rugby players who have suffered catastrophic injuries.
This year the event will take place at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg on Wednesday, June 13. The 2012 event features an entirely new format with guests able to compete in various fun tasks and pit their rugby skills against the Boks, in a Springbok Activities area,
The Rugby Extravaganza has space for 700 guests, each of whom will be treated to a three-course banquet, gifts, complimentary banquet and live entertainment from Bok van Blerk and Loyiso Bala, as well as a guest speaker, former Test referee Mark Lawrence.
This is always a fun-filled event and well supported by the local companies, and makes for a great night out. The evening will be broadcast live on SuperSport 1 from 20h00 until 22h00.
The Players’ Fund receives a significant annual grant from the South African Rugby Union (SARU), but the balance of expenses are raised through active fundraising initiatives and donations to the Fund.
If you are interested in attending the premier rugby social event of the year, dining with your rugby heroes and supporting a great cause, please contact the Players’ Fund on 021 659 5641, email events@playersfund.org.za or visit our website www.playersfund.org.za for more information and to book your place!
