Ben Franks chooses the Hurricanes
All Black prop Ben Franks has chosen to move to the Hurricanes in 2013 which will even further boost their front row stocks in the Capital.
Franks confirmed the move and spoke today before departing with the All Blacks to Argentina.
“This is a new and exciting opportunity for me. I am really looking forward to joining Mark and the team next year,” he said.
Hurricanes Head Coach Mark Hammett said “Ben is a true professional in the game with a never give up attitude. On the field, he is uncompromising and hardworking.”
“Ben also understands what it means for play for the Hurricanes. He has strong leadership abilities and recognises the importance of being active in the community.”
Hurricanes CEO James Te Puni added, “We warmly welcome Ben to the Hurricanes family. He strives for success and we look forward to working with him to achieve his personal aspirations and our team goals in the coming season.”
Franks has signed a three year deal with the Hurricanes. He is the fourth prop to be contracted to the franchise for the 2013 season along with Ben May, Jeffery Toomaga-Allen and Reggie Goodes.
