Ben Tameifuna Cited following Super Rugby Match Chiefs v Sharks
Ben Tameifuna of the Chiefs has been cited for alleged foul play during a Super Rugby match at the weekend.
Tameifuna is alleged to have contravened Law 10.4 (e) Dangerous Tackling, when he tackled Ryan Kankowski of the Sharks, making contact with him above the line of the shoulders. The incident occurred in the 47th minute of the match between the Chiefs and Sharks at Waikato Stadium in Hamilton on Saturday 4th August 2012.
Upon further review of the match footage the Citing Commissioner deemed in his opinion the incident had met the Red Card threshold for foul play
The Citing is to be considered in the first instance by SANZAR Duty Judicial Officer Nicholas Davidson QC.
