Big scores on opening day of LSEN Week
DHL Western Province, the Free State, Blue Bulls, Golden Lions and Boland on Monday stamped their authority on the opening day of the Learners with Special Educational Needs (LSEN) Week at HTS Drostdy in Worcester with impressive victories to start the competition on a solid note.
DHL Western Province thrashed KwaZulu-Natal 71-12 for an emphatic victory after building a commanding 41-12 halftime lead, while the Free State cruised to a 46-0 victory against the Griffons and the Blue Bulls defeated the Pumas 39-5.
The Golden Lions and Boland also secured important victories, with the Johannesburg-based team beating the Leopards 24-10, while hosts Boland overcame a determined Valke outfit for a 15-10 win in front of their home crowd.
The SWD Eagles and Golden Lions EE also started their campaigns on a good note. The Eagles pipped Eastern Province 13-12 in a thrilling clash, while the Golden Lions EE outplayed the Blue Bulls EE 46-0.
In the main matches on Tuesday, DHL Western Province take on SWD, the Lions EE meet the Blue Bulls, Boland go up against the Cheetahs and the Lions will battle it out with the Valke.
