Board of the Central Cheetahs Franchise expresses full Support to Existing Management
The Board of the Central Cheetahs Franchise consisting out of three Directors each from Free State, Griquas and Griffons took the following decisions during a meeting on 28 May 2014:
- That the current Coaching and Management team of the Super Rugby Franchise will continue unchanged for the tournament of 2015. Contracts for these persons are in the final phase of the negotiations specifically regarding performance and evaluation clauses
- The Management and Business structure of the Franchise will continue unchanged
- SARU is currently discussing the future of Super Rugby as from 2016. SANZAR decided on a new competition structure and SARU will discuss the structures of Franchise in South Africa later on this year. The Board of Directors of the Central Cheetahs will then in the light of the changes in Super Rugby, discuss the Management and Business Structures of the Franchise going forward.
- Various speculations and allegations were made in the media regarding the Management and the Structures of the Franchise. The Board discuss these issues and had a positive discussion relating these issues and handled them.
- The Board is in control and full confidence was expressed towards the Managing Director, Mr. Harold Verster.
