Bok Your Profile with the Absa Human Spirit Facebook App
South African fans have shown their undying support for the Springboks over the last few weeks in the 2013 Castle Lager Incoming Series.
In our latest sponsorship campaign, the Human Spirit, we highlight the role that Absa plays in inspiring greatness, so that we may push ourselves and ask how far we will go for what we ache for.
We stand proudly behind the Springboks and the Absa Currie Cup, but we don’t sponsor rugby. We partner the world’s toughest mountain bike stage race, but we don’t sponsor mountain biking. We are behind Bafana Bafana and the Absa Premiership, but we don’t sponsor soccer. And we back the Absa L’ Atelier art competition and the Absa Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees, yet we don’t sponsor the arts.
The arts, mountain biking, soccer and rugby might all be listed as Absa sponsorship properties but the country’s biggest bank sponsors something much deeper.
We sponsor the human spirit.
The human spirit is about putting your body on the line for your country. It’s getting up after a big hit. Pushing on when your team is down. The courage to never give up.
It is not just for our heroes, it is something inside all of us that gives us the strength and courage to become what we want to be. It is what inspires us to follow in the footsteps of giants.
We encourage fans to celebrate the human spirit with us as we support the Springboks throughout the 2013 season.
Through the launch of our Absa Human Spirit Facebook App, supporters can actively participate and get behind the Springboks by giving themselves horns as they “Bok” their profile pictures in a visual demonstration of their support.
The App is up and running from the Absa Facebook page where supporters can take their passion for the Boks a step further.
All they need to is click on the Bok Your Profile link at the top of the page where they will start the process of giving themselves horns.
They simply need to ‘Like’ the Bok Your Profile page and they are well on their way to joining one of the biggest Springbok crazes to hit the social media platform. The first step is to click either upload a photo of themselves or take one with a webcam, they will then choose between four different horns to be placed on their heads.
Springbok supporters attending the Tests should also look out for the Human Spirit activation stand at the stadiums. We also encourage fans to start ‘Bokking’, which is another way of expressing their passion for the Boks. Fans simply hold their index fingers in the form of Springbok horns on top of their heads and share with their friends and followers on Facebook and Twitter.
We challenge Bok fans to get ‘Bokking’ and show their passion with their horns held high.
