Boland Cavaliers names their team to take on SWD
The Boland Cavaliers announced their team today to take on the SWD Eagles in George on Saturday in an Absa Currie Cup First Division match.
Of the starting XV that lost to the Valke last weekend, only Seven players were re-selected for the SWD clash, although some of these changes were forced due to injuries.
Eric Zana (Fullback), Albert Trytsman (Inside Centre), Cheswin Williams (Wing), Zandré Jordaan (Eighth Man) and the Front Row of Khwezi Mkhafu (Lossehead Prop), Clemen Lewis (Hooker) and Martin Dreyer (Tighthead Prop) were all retained in the run-on team, while regular starters, Danwell Demas (Wing) and Franzel September (Flank), return to the starting line-up after recovering from injuries. Demas and Septemeber replaces Christian Rust and Dumisane Meslane respectively, with September also regaining the captaincy from Victor Kruger, after the latter got ruled with a knee injury.
Promising Centre Christopher Bosch will get a rare start in the midfield, with last week’s starting Outside Centre Chesswin Williams shifting to the Left Wing position, replacing Chevandre van Schoor who will do duty from the reserves bench.
In the Number Ten jersey, Earl Lewis will get a chance to showcase his skills in place of Morne Hugo, while Marnus Hugo regains the Scrum-Half jersey in place of Jovelian de Koker. Morne Hugo and De Koker will both be utilised from the bench.
On Blindside Flank Ryno Coetzee will be expected to test SWD’s defence with his aggressive ball carrying abilities (in place of Jason Fraser who moves to the bench), while Yves Bashiya (Five Lock) and Gavin Annandale (Four Lock) should prove to be more than capable replacements for the injured Lock duo of Victor Kruger and Hanno Kitshoff.
