Boland Cavaliers vs Zimbabwe
Boland Stadium, Wellington
The Boland Cavaliers will be hosting Zimbabwe in a SuperSport Rugby Challenge match on Saturday 1 June 2019 at the Boland Stadium in Wellington.
This provincial encounter will coincide with the Boland Club Rugby Grand Challenge derby match between Hillcrest United and Roses United.
Having secured a convincing victory against the SWD Eagles in George this past weekend, the Cavaliers will look to continue with their fine form when they face Zimbabwe.
Boland outscored the home team with 6 tries against 4, with Kenan Cronje (flank) and Valentino Wellman (wing) scoring 2 tries each. Shilton van Wyk (wing) and Francois Esterhuizen (reserve hooker) added a try each, while Garrick Mattheus (flyhalf) succeeded with 5 conversions and a penalty kick. The final score was 28-43 in favour of Boland.
Boland and the Free State currently share the second position on the “South” section of the SuperSport Rugby Challenge log with 20 points each, with Western Province the current log leaders with 24 points.
