The HSBC Waratahs will complete their 2010 Super 14 pre-season on Thursday night when they face the Brumbies in a trial match at Viking Park in Canberra.

It will be the team’s third match in 13 days, and will give the squad a nine-day turnaround before their opening round match against the Queensland Reds in Brisbane.

Lachie Turner, Dean Mumm and Benn Robinson have been named in the starting XV for their first appearances in 2010, while Ben Mowen makes his comeback from the bench following a six month layoff after knee surgery.

Intermittent rain is forecast for southern Canberra on Thursday afternoon and evening, with warm and humid conditions expected to greet the teams.

The match will be preceded by a curtain raiser between the Brumby Runners and Sydney University at 6pm
