CANTERBURY TEAM TO PLAY COUNTIES MANUKAU
Canterbury Head Coach Scott Robertson has named his side to take on Counties Manukau this Sunday afternoon. The match will be the final home game during the regular season for Canterbury.
Robertson has made six changes to the starting fifteen that played Auckland last weekend, four of those in the forwards.
In the front row, Paea Fa’anunu will play at loosehead prop with a foot injury ruling Joe Moody out. Corey Flynn will play hooker and Ben Funnell will provide cover from the bench.
Lock Luke Katene will pair up with Joel Everson this week, with Matt Symons also being ruled out due to injury (shoulder). Jordan Taufua returns to number eight and Nasi Manu will take a spot in the reserves.
In the backs, Andy Ellis will pick up the vice-captaincy reins and starting halfback spot this week, and Tyler Bleyendaal has recovered from the head knock he sustained against Wellington two weeks ago to take the number ten jersey.
With kick-off at 2:35pm, the match is being touted as a family fun day and additional entertainment such as a bouncy castle, inflatable slide and face-painting will be available at the stadium. The inaugural Canterbury Rugby Dance Academy, with members nominated from Canterbury schools, will also perform at the game.
