Canterbury Women’s team to play Wellington
Canterbury Women’s Head Coach John Sherratt has named an unchanged fifteen to play Wellington tomorrow. The game will be played as a curtain raiser to the ITM Cup Premiership Semi-Final between Canterbury and Auckland.
Canterbury beat Manawatu 36-18 last weekend and are currently sitting at the top of the table, just one point ahead of last year’s champions Auckland. Tomorrow’s game against Wellington will be their last regular match of the season and the two top teams will proceed straight to the Final next weekend.
As well as being at the top of the teams’ points table, Canterbury halfback Kendra Cocksedge is leading the individual points table. She has scored 76 points so far this season, and has increased her career total to 337 points which places her third on the all-time NPC scoring records list.
The Women’s game will kick off at 11:30am at AMI Stadium, with the men running on at 2:05pm.
