Tickets for the second HSBC Cape Town Sevens tournament go on sale today (Friday 29 July at 09h00) through Computicket and at their Shoprite/Checkers outlets, with prices starting at R150 for a full day’s rugby action.

Tickets to a dedicated, alcohol-free family stand will also be available adjacent to a Kiddies Village (free of charge), while the opposite South Stand has been designated as the Party Stand. An additional beer garden and more Food Lover’s Market stands have been added to the plans for this year’s event.

MyCiti bus services will be tailored to the event to alleviate parking around the stadium and add to the spectator experience. Schedules will be issued in due course.

A full seating plan of the Cape Town Stadium with the applicable seating and pricing plan is here for the event which runs on Saturday and Sunday, 10-11 December.

Tickets sold out quickly last year and with the demand expected to be even higher for this year’s event, spectators are advised to get their tickets for the event as soon as possible, in order to avoid disappointment.

Private suites have already sold out, but all-inclusive hospitality packages, starting at R2 995 per person per day (excluding VAT), are still available from SA Rugby through Mingon van Rooyen at mingonv@sarugby.co.za.

For fans travelling from abroad or out of town, tickets and travel packages are also available from SA Rugby Travel (www.sarugbytravel.com). Megapro has supporters’ packages available and they can be purchased for Saturday only (R1 895 per person, excluding VAT), Sunday only (R2 295 per person, excluding VAT) or Weekend Package (R3 700 per person, excluding VAT). Contact john@megapro.co.za for packages.

SA Rugby would like to caution members of the public who may be tempted to purchase from any unofficial agencies as tickets and hospitality cannot be guaranteed.

SA Rugby’s CEO Jurie Roux said the smooth running of the second ever HSBC Cape Town Sevens is well underway.

“The first tickets sold for the event will be proof that there is no turning in our efforts to make the tournament even better than last year,” said Roux.

“We could not ask for much more last year, as South Africans from all across the country came out to support the tournament, as well as a significant number of fans from abroad. We are working hard to eliminate the odd mishap from last year and is determined to achieve our vision to make the HSBC Cape Town Sevens the best event on the circuit.”
