Castle Lager Crowns Bloemfontein Springbok SuperFans
Castle Lager has crowned Bloemfontein’s Springbok SuperFans in a tightly contested “scrum-off” held at the Free State Stadium during halftime when the Toyota Cheetahs played the Sharks on the 4th of June. The winning team displayed their strength as they beat four other teams in the tough competition that saw them scrumming a heavy duty Bakkie filled with 46 cases of Castle Lager over a 40m distance in the fastest time.
Bloemfontein’s golden group (made up of Kirk Andre Olivier, George Hugo, JC Bezuidenhout, Henry Schwim and Jacques Du Plessis) will compete for the grand prize at the national Scrum-a-Bakkie final on 20 August in Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium against the other winning regional SuperFans. The winning team of friends will take home the grand prize of an all expenses paid trip to New Zealand to accompany the Boks as they take on the world in September this year.
“As we set out on our journey to find the ultimate Springbok SuperFans, we are starting something greater than just a trip to New Zealand”, said Errol Madlala, Sponsorship Manager for Castle Lager. “As September draws closer, we’d like to remind every South African that it is time to come together and rally behind the boys and help them on their way to glory”.
