Cavaliers secure bonus-point victory against EP | U.20’s thrash Border | Boland vs Sharks in Wellington on Friday
THE Boland Cavaliers secured their first win of the 2016 Currie Cup Premier Division after beating Eastern Province 28-10 at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth on Friday.
There wasn’t much that separated the two teams after the first 40 minutes, with the visitors taking a narrow 7-3 lead at the break. The speedster Sergio Torrens scored the only try of the first half.
A man-of-the-match performance by veteran loose-forward Zandré Jordaan sparked a one-sided performance in the second half, as the Cavaliers scored another three tries in claiming a well-deserved four-try bonus point victory.
Fullback Nico Scheepers was in sublime form once-again as he converted all four tries for Boland.
