The Winter Roses from Mdantsane in the Eastern Cape on Sunday won the Women’s Club Invitational Championship at the City Park Stadium in Cape Town by defeating local club the Busy Bees 20-10 in an exciting final to close off the two-day competition.
The tournament, which brought down the curtain on the 2014 Women’s Provincial rugby season, kicked off on Saturday and featured eight club teams from East London, Pretoria, Eastern Province, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo and the Western Cape.
