Cheetahs team to take on the Bulls in Currie Cup opener
After a long wait and with much anticipation, the Absa Currie Cup kicks off on Saturday in Bloemfontein with the match between the Toyota Free State Cheetahs and the Vodacom Blue Bulls at 14:15. Gates open at 10:00 and at 10:30 the Toyota Free State Cheetahs will be taking on their opponents from the Blue Bulls. The u.21 game kicks off at 12:05.
Since the first encounter between the Toyota Free State Cheetahs (Free State) and the Blue Bulls (Northern Transvaal) on 20 May 1939, the two teams has met 89 times of which the Blue Bulls won 60 games and the Cheetahs 24. The teams draw on five occasions and out of the last six matches played in Bloemfontein, the Toyota Free State Cheetahs won three, the Blue Bulls two and one game was a draw.
120 Year Celebration
Free Rugby is 120 years old this year and brings honor to all former players with a reunion the weekend of the 7th and 8th August in Bloemfontein. The event kicks off on a more formal note with an exclusive function on the Friday. The Saturday before the Absa Currie Cup match between the Toyota Free State Cheetahs and the Bulls, all old players will parade onto the field. After the game, former and present players will get a chance to rub shoulders and to watch the Test match between the Springboks and Argentina in the Presidents Hall in the Free State Stadium.

Toyota Day
Toyota will be bringing lots of excitement with the Toyota Yaris Extreme Thrill Ride experience and more fun for the kids with jumping castles, face painters, popcorn and candy floss in the stadium.
Adam Tas will provide entertainment on the Castle Deck after the game.
With the help of Toyota South Africa all the tickets for this game has been sold out and for the first time in a long while a full stadium is expected.
