With the biggest crowd of the season already confirmed for the pre-Christmas derby against the Scarlets, supporters are being urged to buy early and buy online to avoid the matchday queues.

Over 11,000 seats have already been filled and with 10 days to go, we are heading towards the largest crowd at a Welsh regional rugby ground this season.

This year sees the two old rivals going head to head on the Saturday before Christmas for the first time (22nd December, 3pm KO), making it the perfect way to kick-off the festive season, the first of three derby clashes for the Ospreys over a two week period, that sees them travel to Rodney Parade on Sunday 30th January before welcoming Cardiff Blues to the Liberty Stadium on Saturday 5th January.

The first instalment of this season’s Ospreys v Scarlets rivalry was played out at Parc y Scarlets at the start of October, the Ospreys outscoring their hosts three tries to two but missing out by three points in a physical and intense battle that finished 20-17 to the home side.

The two teams boast identical records so far in the Guinness PRO14, with six wins and four losses, the Scarlets with one of the most potent attacks, the Ospreys with one of the sternest defences, and with play-off places and European qualification all up for grabs, it’s a big game with everything to play for.

Supporters are being urged not to leave it until matchday to purchase tickets – instead, they should buy online now to avoid the inevitable delays when buying last minute on game day.

Andrew Millward, Ospreys Managing Director, said:

“Playing the big derby game on the pre-Christmas Saturday is something new for all of us but we are delighted to see the response from supporters of both regions. With the biggest crowd of the season at the Liberty already confirmed, and the biggest regional attendance within touching distance, it promises to be a big occasion and another exciting chapter in the history of this fixture.

“Clarkie and the team are looking forward to enjoying having a big crowd behind them with an atmosphere to match. The message for anyone who hasn’t bought tickets yet is to buy online and get yours today.”

Tickets for the game start at just £25* adults, £5* for kids and are available to buy now at www.ospreysrugby.com/buytickets and via the ticket hotline on 01792 616400.
