Crusaders lend a hand at junior rugby club registrations
Canterbury’s top rugby players are helping to recruit the talent of the future. Junior rugby clubs are currently taking registrations for the 2012 season and members of the Crusaders squad are coming along to lend a hand.
Junior rugby clubs all over the region will have a visit from a Crusader or two sometime in March. The Crusaders players will be available for autographs and photos with their young fans, and they will help out with a skills and drills session.
Crusaders captain Kieran Read, who is visiting the Saracens Rugby Football Club in Rangiora on Tuesday afternoon, said helping out at the junior club registrations is an important tradition for the Crusaders. “It’s good fun getting out on the field with the young players, and it’s a bonus if we can help to create more interest in the game. The more new players we have registering at their local clubs, the better for Canterbury rugby in the long run.”
