Crusaders much too strong for Cheetahs
The Cheetahs’ defence had no answer to a rampant Crusaders outfit in their Super 14 clash in Christchurch on Saturday.
The Crusaders won 45-6 after leading 26-6 at half-time.
The Crusaders scored seven tries through No 8 Thomas Waldrom (2), centre Ryan Crotty, scrumhalf Kahn Fotuali’i, prop Ben Franks and wings Zac Guildford and Sean Maitland. Fullback Colin Slade landed five conversions.
The Cheetahs answered with penalties by flyhalf Riaan Viljoen and replacement Meyer Bosman.
The Crusaders picked up a full-house of five points for their victory while the Cheetahs left empty-handed.
The Crusaders moved to the top of the standings ahead of the Bulls v Reds clash, while the Cheetahs remained in 13th position.
In next weekend’s Round 11 action the Crusaders travel to Perth to face the Force, while the Cheetahs visit Hamilton to tackle the Chiefs.
