Western Province remains unbeaten after an easy match against the Leopards while the Free State Cheetahs clinch a nail-biter at Loftus.

Friday, 23 July, 19h00 – Sharks 27-17 Pumas, Durban

Keegan Daniel continued his try-scoring run to help the Sharks beat a spirited Pumas side in Durban.
Daniel scored a hat-trick of tries to compliment his double from last week against the Blue Bulls.
The Pumas put up a brave fight, leading 17-10 at half-time, but had to play with 14 men for 20minutes of the game after replacement flanker Jaco Bouwer was first yellow-carded and then red-carded only minutes after returning from the sin-bin.
The Sharks waisted no time in taking the lead and securing a 27-17 bonus point victory.

Friday, 23 July, 19h10 – Leopards 23-42 Western Province, Potchefstroom

There were no surprises as Western Province smashed the Leopards in Potchefstroom.
WP ran in six tries after 60minutes and then took their foot off the pedal to allow the Leopards to score two consolation tries before the final hooter sounded.
WP cement their place on top of the log with a 42-23 bonus point victory.

Saturday, 24 July, 15h00 – Griquas 26-20 Lions, Kimberley

Griquas look unbeatable at GWK Park in Kimberley as they came from behind for the second time this season to beat the Lions 26-20.
The Lions made all of the play in the first half and deserved their 14-6 lead at half-time, only to learn that the Griquas left their best for last.
Griquas started moving the ball through the hands and with a powerful Griquas pack, led by Jacobie Adriaanse, they forced the Lions to give away numerous penalties and allow Naas Olivier to kick the Griquas to victory.

Saturday, 24 July, 17h00 – Blue Bulls 23-25 FS Cheetahs, Pretoria

For the second week in a row the Blue Bulls were involved in the match of the weekend as they faced the Cheetahs at fortress Loftus. But they also came up short for the second week in a row when the Cheetahs’ replacements clinched the win in injury time.
The Blue Bulls had to defend most of the 80minutes against a rampant Cheetahs pack, led by captain Juan Smith.
As always the Blue Bulls remained calm under pressure and led 16-9 at half-time as they turned all their opportunities into points.
It was however replacement fly-half Sias Ebersohn who showed great nerve to break Blue Bulls’ hearts. After an injury-time try by Skipper Badenhorst, he slotted a great conversion from the touchline, securing a rare 25-23 win at Loftus.
After the match Captain Juan Smith said: “You don’t come to Loftus and beat the Blue Bulls by playing 40minutes of rugby, you have to play for 80minutes and today we did that”
