DHL Stormers to continue home run against Aussies?

Losing only two of their last home 10 games, the DHL Stormers clearly enjoy hosting Australian teams in Cape Town. They will be hoping for more of the same when they take on the Western Force on Saturday at 15h00 at DHL Newlands.
However, the men from Western Australia have not shirked the DHL Newlands challenge – they are one of only two Australian teams that have managed to beat the DHL Stormers in Cape Town since 2007. In that year, the Western Force won by 22-3, while the Brumbies beat the DHL Stormers by 19-17 last season.
In 2009, during their only other visit to the Mother City, the Force made the DHL Stormers work hard for a nailbiting 25-24 victory.
It’s not been that diffi cult in Cape Town against the Waratahs and the Reds for the DHL Stormers, though.
The hosts have been undefeated in their last three matches against the teams from Sydney and Brisbane, which includes a 25-6 victory in the 2010 Vodacom Super 14 semi-final.
Apart from the six wins and two defeats, the DHL Stormers have also drawn two games in their last ten against Australian opposition – that was in rainy conditions in 2008 against the Waratahs (13-13) and in 2006 against the Brumbies (15-15).
The DHL Stormers are the only unbeaten team in this season’s Vodacom Super Rugby competition. They have already notched up three home victories, over the Highlanders (18-6), Toyota Cheetahs (21-15) and the Lions (19-16), as well as one away, last Saturday against the Vodacom Bulls in Pretoria (23-13).
