DOUBLE HEADER DELIGHT FOR PE SPORT FANS
Port Elizabeth, 07 August 2015 — Nelson Mandela Bay residents and visitors to the friendly city are in line for another sporting feast on Saturday and Sunday, as Chippa United and the EP Kings kick-off the month of August with a double header this weekend, against the Golden Lions and Kaizer Chiefs respectively.
The EP Kings will kick-start the enthralling weekend on Saturday, 8 August where they will go head to head against the Lions at what is being dubbed as a revenge match. While the Chippa United take on Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday, 9 August 2015.
“Hosting Kaizer Chiefs is always a pleasure and the Chilli Boys have been hard at work in preparation for the season. We intend to give Kaizer Chiefs a run for their money and hope that fans will come out in their numbers in support of Chippa United.” said Simon Mpengesi, chairman of Chippa United Football Club.
Fans shouldn’t wait until the last minute to purchase tickets.” said Chantal du Pisani, CEO of the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium operator, Access Management.
“Tickets for these matches have already gone on sale at selected branches of the Post Office and Postnet as well as selected Edgars, CNA and Jetmart outlets in and around Port Elizabeth, and the Greater Nelson Mandela Bay Metro.” added Du Pisani.
EP Rugby CEO Charl Crous said he is looking forward to the start of the Currie Cup season. “The EP Kings have been working extremely hard both on and off the field and we know there are some hard matches ahead but we are ready for the challenge that awaits us”.
Enthusiasts have been advised to arrive early for the respective games. Motorists should expect partial road closures – in Milner Road, Prince Alfred Road and Fettes Road. Both soccer and rugby enthusiasts are urged to be in their seats at least an hour before kick-off. Soccer fans are advised to make sure that they buy their tickets before match day, in order to avoid disappointment.
