Early warning from the boot of Morne Steyn
Last year was a golden year for Bulls fly half Morne Steyn. Few will forget how he was perhaps the biggest weapon in the arsenal of a successful Blue Bulls Team. He managed to take this form into the Lions Series and sealed the series for the Springboks with a long range penalty attempt in the 2nd Test at Loftus. The Lions Tour was followed with a successful Tri-Nations tournament for the Springboks. Only at the end of 2009 did Morne start missing a few attempts at goal!
In the warm-up game against the Lions it appeared that Morne Steyn has been as precise with the kicking boots as we have come to expect. Steyn has confirmed that he and kicking coach Vlok Cilliers is again hard at work and looking forward to 2010.
With many penalties awarded in the warm-up matches it is to be expected that the teams with an accurate kicker will be at a strong advantage! The teams conceding penalties against the Blue Bull Team have been warned –You are doing so at your peril – the scoreboard will be ticking!!
