ENGLAND MEN SEVENS SQUAD NAMED FOR HSBC SINGAPORE SEVENS
Head of England Sevens Simon Amor has named his squad for the HSBC Singapore Sevens taking place on 13-14 April, live on Sky Sports Arena.
One change has been made to the side that played in Hong Kong last weekend with Tom Mitchell moving from 13th man into the 12-player line-up after recovering from a hamstring injury.
Dan Bibby misses out on selection after picking up a shoulder injury in the knock-out stage of the Hong Kong tournament on Sunday.
Travelling with the team as 13th man is 19 year-old Femi Sofolarin who signed for the England Men Sevens academy at the beginning of the 2018/19 season.
The eighth round of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series will take place at the National Stadium where England will face Kenya, Wales and USA in Pool C on Saturday.
Head of England Sevens Simon Amor commented: “It’s great to have Tom Mitchell back in for this weekend who is an important playmaker and leader of this team.
“It’s obviously disappointing to have lost Dan Bibby through injury, however it provides another opportunity for our young, exciting academy players and the team have consistently responded well to injuries this year always showing the effort and fight that optimises England Sevens.
“We’ve had a great week’s training – we’re confident and excited about the upcoming weekend where we’ll face a tough pool on day one.”
