ENGLAND Saxons will face Ireland Wolfhounds at Irish Independent Park on Friday, January 30.

The match will kick off in Cork at 7.45pm and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports HD.

The last time the two sides met on Irish soil, in 2013, the Saxons beat the Wolfhounds 14-10 in Galway.

Last season’s fixture saw the Saxons narrowly lose 14-8 at Kingsholm, Gloucester.

Jon Callard will head the Saxon coaching team a week before England’s RBS 6 Nations campaign begins in Wales.

Stuart Lancaster, England Head Coach said: “This game against the Wolfhounds gives us a great opportunity to take a look at a group of players who are right on the edge of the senior squad. In a World Cup year there is everything to play for and this game is crucial in the build up towards the RBS 6 Nations and the Rugby World Cup itself.”

Jon Callard, Saxons Head Coach said: “The match will be a real test for us against a strong and experienced Wolfhounds side. The fixture has historically been extremely well contested by both teams and we are expecting the same in Cork. Ireland have a depth of talent and we’re looking forward to taking them on.”

The Saxons squad will be announced on January 21 alongside the England senior squad.

This will be the Saxons only game during the 2015 Six Nations window.
